Is it a sign or not???

This will be a very short blog. So I am at a bit of a dilemma, I have been questioning the Mormon religion to myself for a little bit now, but I find it very ironic that 2 days after I start this Blog, I tear my ACL and now I will be temporarily disabled for about a year during my surgery and rehab process. Now to the Christian mind this is conceived as a sign, but is it? To a Free Thinking person its just a coincidence? If I was confused before, I am even more so now. HELP!!!!!

  1. Coincidence, and a sucky coincidence at that! If that's God's way of winning you back, he's a bully!

  2. I used to be a fundamentalist Orthodox Jew and I can say this: good luck. There's no god to punish you for following a false religion to keep peace. At the same time no way you will be able to keep it up forever if you don't believe, you're cracking already. So good luck.

  3. Hi Ray, I really enjoyed your honesty; if you lived in New Zealand, I have no doubt that we would be good friends. I am a church member (LDS) but born into the Presbaterian church which is full of beautiful people as is the Baptist Church. I have no doubt that you felt the Holy spirit in the Baptist Church, as their faith and relationship with our Heavenly Father is very real, I believe everyday that in their prayers, they feel the Holy Ghost that God lives, it is all very real.
There have been many prophets among many people's of the earth - and they have recorded their precious inspiration as scripture - and pure scripture is all from God. Without a doubt, there exists precious scripture outside of the bible. The bible is a most precious sacred works only to be loved and respected. As the Holy Ghost bares witness of the truthfulness of the Bible, I have also received a witness that the Book of Mormon is true, and I cant pretend otherwise, even now as I write this I feel that burning in then bosom.
There is an honest appraisal of the Book of Mormon by Baptist Minister - Lyn Ridenhour - which demostrates the beauty of an honest open heart. All I know is that in my case, life has been given huge depth and meaning, and constant spiritual guidance that has often not been easy - but has always been worth it. Good Luck and please feel free to e-mail me on kimijake@hotmail.com Your brother Jason

  4. Hi Ray,

Your programming (from the church) would lead you to believe that bad things happen to you because you are not faithful. Just as members believe if you are good then, and only then, do you get blessings (which they usually equate as money). We must first understand the psychology that goes into controlling a group of people, and the psychology of being a part of a group.

You will work it all out! Good luck!
    Miss O
